Pressure washing wood decking is a common and effective step — it’s also frequently the first step before restaining, since it strips old, failing stain along with dirt and mildew. The key is matching pressure to the wood’s condition: softer or older boards need a gentler touch to avoid gouging or fuzzing the grain.

Composite Decking

Composite decking (Trex and similar materials) can scar or fuzz under excessive pressure, so this material gets a lower-PSI, wide-fan-tip approach rather than the same setting used on natural wood or concrete.

Paver & Concrete Patios

Patios see a similar mix of algae, mildew, and organic staining as driveways, plus outdoor furniture rust rings and grill grease in high-use entertaining areas. Concrete and paver patios can generally handle more pressure than the deck boards next to them, so if your property has both, we treat each surface according to what it can actually handle rather than running one setting across the whole space.
